Access

We aim to provide a friendly and accessible environment as possible for all our visitors.

Please note that the Fusilier Museum is situated on the first floor of St John's House. We apologise that there is no access except by stairs (there is no lift) to the first floor, because of the physical restrictions posed by this Grade I listed building.

Visitors can get an idea about what the museum exhibition looks like from the Virtual Tour facility on a touchscreen on the ground floor. There are also copies of the graphic panels available on request from reception. Certain smaller items can be brought down for viewing by visitors on request. Enquiries are welcome.

The small car park at St Johnís House has disabled parking at the back and the rear entrance is wheelchair accessible (there is a ramp). There are also accessible toilets on the ground floor.

At the museum on the first floor in addition to the uniforms that visitors can try on, we also have handling objects that have been specially chosen as they are tactile. Please ask during your visit if you wish to access them.
