Second Fusilier mementoes wanted for temporary exhibition

Can you help the museum by loaning them your mementoes of the Second Fusiliers for a temporary display at St John's House?

The special display will run from mid September until the end of October to coincide with the laying up of the 2nd Battalion Colours in St Mary’s Church in Warwick on the Sunday 9th October.

Stephanie Bennett, Curator, said ‘We’re lucky enough to have been given many of the Second Fusiliers photo albums, but I’d like to be able to show visitors some objects relating to the battalion as well; hence the appeal to people. I think it’s important to remember the historic link the 2nd Battalion has with Warwickshire.’

When the Fusiliers were created in 1968, the Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers became the 2nd Battalion. This preserved the link with the region that formally started in 1782 when it became the 1st Warwickshire and recruited in the area.

If you are able to help please contact Stephanie.
