Your Museum Needs You!
Do you enjoy meeting people?
Got some spare time?
Like being part of a small friendly team?
You would welcome visitors, sell shop stock and answer enquiries.
Make a real difference! This important role helps visitors to have an enjoyable experience.
One volunteer said ‘It’s never boring. I’ve been at the shop, spoken to visitors and answered written queries from people. I’ve learnt about things that I wouldn’t normally, like Palestine. Reading about World War I, particularly all those killed, is very poignant. I am fascinated by the experiences of ex-soldiers. I did not have any previous sales experience but I quickly picked up this new skill. I also like supporting the permanent museum staff. I am able to do things that they do not get the time to do. It makes me feel that I am making a real difference.’
The ideal person would be reliable, enthusiastic and good with people.
An interest in history or family history is helpful, but not essential.
Full training will be give.
If you would like to find out more and share a mince pie with us come along on Thursday 13th December anytime between 4pm and 6pm!
