D-Day: Home & Away
Family drop-in event on the Wednesday 6th June 2012 from 11am to 3pm.
British troops sailed from England to the Normandy beaches in France. They landed on the 6th June 1944, known as D-Day. It led to the liberation of Europe and end of World War II.
Be creative and make your own boat out of craft materials.
At home in England people protected themselves during German bomb attacks with gas masks.
Make your own gas mask and box to put it in.
There is also the opportunity to handle real Home Front objects.
£3.00 per child for 3 activities and handling real objects.
This is a joint event between the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Museum (Royal Warwickshire) and Heritage & Culture.
